What is Honda Connect? Honda connect is an app which was launched by Honda Cars to celebrate its 20th anniversary in India in 2015 with the objective of serving its customers better. The app is packed with 20 indigenous features providing round the clock information about the safety, security and convenience to the customers. The app which when connected with the car notifies vehicle health like about the condition of the engine or battery, trip details and car location. It also helps the customer in locating the nearest petrol pump, booking a service, keeping track of the invoices etc. The app has a car calendar which has information about the next date for car insurance renewal, car service reminder and PUC reminder. Honda Connect also has a Manual SoS feature which will let the family and friends know their location when stuck in an unpleasant situation.
The app is priced at Rs 2,499.00 for the first 20,000 cars along with 1 month subscription free. However, the app is priced at Rs 6,249.00 for existing Honda customers.
Honda Connect: Is it a hit or Miss for Customers?
Going by the features described in the app, the customer would definitely go in for the app. Based on one of the survey; nearly 536 people out of 911 surveyed have given a rating of 5 for the app.
However, some of the customers feel that the app has still a long way to go in terms of the accuracy of the results displayed by the app.
Some of the customers have complained about the app not showing the exact location. The location indicator is flawed, irrespective of the location the car is in, it always shows the location in which the car was at the time of registering for the app. If location indicator is a problem, then even the direction or the map also seems to be incorrect. Some of the customers have said that they prefer Google Maps compared to Honda Connect App, since the results are inaccurate.
Other problems which customers have experienced are that app does not work well in covered areas. The time taken to activate the app itself is nearly a week, although the app should get activated in 24 hrs time. Thus the one month free subscription given cannot be fully utilized as the time taken to activate the app itself is more than a week.
There are also issues with the trip analysis. Many people have complained that the log is incorrect. There are some customers who have experienced the connectivity issues and when they have tried reaching out to the 24X7 helpline, no help was received other than just waiting on the phone line. There are issues in retrieving the documents as well. Some of the customers also feel that the app is priced high, since there are several issues which are not resolved.
Overall, the Honda Connect app is still in a nascent stage with many bug fixes due before it gets a “thumbs up” from all its customers.
